Dear Great Pyrenees fans, I am Alfred, I am also the 70th dog brought in to this group which only launched in February of this year! That's 7 months, 70 dogs. I am also the 3rd HW positive dog brought in during this past week. I too will need a foster/adopter and sponsor so I can make it through my treatment. I am only 3 years old and weigh 98 pounds. A nice man at Henry County animal control contacted Great Pyr rescue in hopes of saving me! Yeah Mr, Henry-County-man! Bad news! I am about 2 and I am Heartworm positive. Those yucky deadly worms are definitely not going to get the best of me, but I need a foster who can help me through these next two months and a sponsor to help out with my medical bills. After that, I will be looking forward to finding my new home where they will make sure I am happy and healthy so I can protect them and be their best-ever pal!

I am about 9 months old and was the subject of many emails a few months back, you see I came in to the shelter with burn marks on my back. Not sure I will ever be able to tell anyone what happened to me, but I am sweet, loving and obviously know how to forgive! Here I am feeling better and you should have seen how loving I was at PetSmart yesterday!

Well they told me I would have the Life of Riley, and I guess that meant something really good because here I am, living at my foster home with my "foster sister" Heidi and she just said something funny which is why I have this silly look on my face. I had a hard life until now, I was pulled out of a shelter by some very kind ladies, they say I may have been stuck in a trap. I am looking for my permanent home, someplace like my foster home where life is GOOD!

Update - Here I am - standing! I'm still a bit stiff and my muscles need some work. Thanks for the donations for my surgery...Doc says I might need some more rehab - water therapy would be good and with beach season coming up, I am hoping I can find a home with a pool??? I like to dream!
